Amarula is made from the fruit of the Marula or Elephant Tree which is only found in sub-equatorial Africa. From mid-January to mid-March the marula fruit ripens to yield its distinctive flavour and yellow colour.

The ripe fruit is gathered and after careful selection, de-stoned, pulped and transported under controlled conditions to cellars in the Stellenbosch region. Here, the fruit is fermented to create marula wine which is then distilled to produce marula spirit.

After two years of maturation in French oak, the spirit is then blended with fresh cream to become the rich, smooth liqueur known as Amarula Cream.

Free Prize Draw Terms & Conditions

  1. This free prize draw is open to all residents of the UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands aged 18 or over, excluding employees and immediate families of the First Drinks Brands Limited and ASDA Stores Limited, their agents or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion.
  2. Entrants do not have to be registered users of this ASDA website, as the free prize draw is open to all users of the ASDA website who qualify under these Terms & Conditions.
  3. Only one entry per household permitted. Organised group, bulk or automatically generated entries are not permitted. Entries must not be sent through agents or third parties - any such entries will be deemed invalid.
  4. No purchase is necessary to enter this draw.
  5. To enter simply complete your details in the name and address fields requested, read and accept these Terms & Conditions by ticking the box and press enter. Closing date for entries is Midnight on 31st March 2008 and any entries received after such time will be ineligible for entry into this prize draw.
  6. Incomplete, illegible entries or any entry which does not comply with these Terms & Conditions or any other entry instructions, will not be accepted. First Drinks Brands Ltd will not be responsible for any entries not received due to corrupted or lost data.
  7. The prize comprises of 100 pairs of tickets to the Afrika!Afrika! show in London next to the O2 arena. Prize winners are responsible for transport to and from the show.
  8. There is no cash alternative to the prizes and the prizes are non-transferable. Tickets will be valid for a limited period only.
  9. First Drinks Brands Ltd reserves the right to offer alternative prizes to the equivalent or greater value, should the prizes detailed become unavailable.
  10. The 100 winners will be drawn at random from qualifying entries on 1st April under the supervision of an independent observer. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The prize winners will be notified via the contact details provided with the entry within seven days of the draw date.
  11. The names and counties of the winners can be obtained between 6th-30th April by sending a stamped, addressed envelope to: ASDA / Amarula Promotion, Toucan, Merton Abbey Mills, Watermill Way, London SW19 2RD.
  12. By entering the free prize draw, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Entrants accept, that if they win, First Drinks Brands Ltd in conjunction with ASDA Stores Limited, will have the right, without additional payment or permission, to use their name and likeness in announcing the winner and ask them to take part in publicity relating to this promotion. All entry instructions form part of the Terms & Conditions.
  13. By entering the free prize draw, all entrants will be deemed to consent to the transfer of their personal data by ASDA Stores Limited as Data Controller to the Promoter and Promoter’s agents and contractors for all purposes connected to the administration of this free prize draw.
